Guroudev bhalla or Gurudev Bhalla, directed and Produced the 2002 feature film ‘Sharaarat’; starring Abhishek Bachchan, Amrish Puri, Om Puri & Hrishitaa Bhatt among others.
He has produced several TV shows for leading broadcasters of Indian TV. Some of them are:
- Udaan – Written by leading film writer Robin Bhatt and based on a concept by Mahesh Bhatt, it was one of the longest running shows on Colors TV (2014-2019) and consistently one of the top-rated GEC shows
- Naamkaran – a critically acclaimed show based on an autobiographical account of Mahesh Bhatt, it replaced the long running show ‘Diya aur Baati hum’ on Star Plus
- Tu Aashiqui – A critically acclaimed love story that revived the 7 pm time slot for Colors TV
- Dil Ki Baatein Dil Hi Jaane (Sony TV)
- Baazigar (Life OK)
- Dil Jaise Dhadke Dhadakene Do (Star Plus)
Early Life
Prior to setting up his own production house, he headed the Television division of veteran film-maker Mr. Manmohan Shetty’s company called Walkwater Media Limited from 2008-2013. Among other shows, he launched the daily show titled Pratigya on Star Plus – a highly rated, critically acclaimed social drama that ran for more than 800 episodes. He has also set up the Star Plus show Mahabharat in 2013 as a Creative Director. The show was a major critical and commercial success on Star Plus after several failed attempts by broadcasters to relaunch Ramayan and Mahabharat.
As a Director
Before putting on the producer’s cap, he has directed almost 1500 hours in television of leading shows; to name a few:

- Milind Ingle’s “Rasiya” for Sony Music.
